Young enough to have missed when the Stones were hip, and too old to have ever gone to a rave, this film is about a group of guys on the periphery, in the middle of it all. Told with risk, humor and sexual candor, The Origin of Man is a simple story about complex questions.

A high-strung college professor embarks on the ostentatious adventure of making his first documentary with the help of his brother. During the filming they get caught up in an investigation of underground occult activity in Oakland, California. Having bitten off way more than they can chew, the clueless but determined filmmaker leads himself, his crew, and the documentary itself into a labyrinth of mystery and danger.

Herd is the story of a lowly Fry Cook who becomes the unwitting accomplice to an alien who instructs him to build a nefarious black box.

Laura and Caveh are two down-and-out artists in the midst of a particularly bad day. The turmoil of professional failure, imminent eviction and a possible pregnancy, pits Laura's somber realism against Caveh's apparently blind faith the universe is still on their side.

Young George Lucas has writer's block. If he doesn't finish his screenplay in three days he won't graduate from USC Film School. What he doesn't realize is that his story is all around him. His stoner room-mate obsessed with "the force," his evil neighbor with Vader-esque asthma, and his diminutive professor with a habit of talking backwards all fail to spark his script. Then he meets a beauty with hair buns, and everything changes.
